Renewing a Ghanaian biometric passport

STEP 1



The applicant must purchase a passport application form from any approved point of sale which is mainly from all the commercial banks in Ghana. Below are some of the banks.

National Investment Bank LTD (NIB)
Agricultural Development Bank (ADB)
Zenith Bank


STEP 2

The applicant has to complete the passport application form, add the expired passport and a photocopy of its data page and also add any additional supporting documents in the event of changes in the applicants circumstance from the first application.

A relevant supporting document could be

    A birth certificate
    An Old passport
    Travel Certificate (TC)
    A drivers license (to support as a proof of profession)
    A letter of introduction from your employer
    ID card (Students, work, voters, NIA and NHIS)
    A Gazette (As proof for change in Name, date of Birth or any record of applicant)
    An affidavit of support
    Marriage Certificate
    Dual citizenship certificate and card.

In case there has been some changes in applicants circumstance, they passport staff at the centers client unit will advise the applicant on the documents that is required to be added.

STEP 3

The applicant gets scheduled to be captured for the photograph and bio data at the application center. The passports application centers (PAC) are currently in six (6) regional capital in the country.

STEP 4

After the biodata capture, the applicant is given a receipt slip which indicates the collection date the passport will be ready.

STEP 5


Completed passports are sent to the Application Centers where applicants can collect their passports by presenting their receipt and undergoing a final biometric check.
